Kids lessons: Elementary school to High School
These lessons focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The initial goal is to have students get familiar with English from a native speaker. By the end of junior high school and high school, students are expected to read and understand long reading passages and give thoughtful opinions on various topics.
- For beginner students, we start with the alphabet, phonics, essential words, and easy conversation patterns.
- At the elementary school level, we use textbooks and workbooks. Homework is given each week. We continue to teach phonics while also strengthening vocabulary, speaking, and listening ability.
- We will introduce reading and writing using common words and short phrases for elementary school students.
- Students above the beginner level will be given short writing assignments. Supplemental reading materials are also given to higher-level elementary students and junior high school students.
- Writing, short presentations, and role-play are used extensively for more advanced students.
Business English Lessons
Lessons for adults can be customized according to the student’s ability and needs.
- We can provide learning materials on current affairs, how to write emails, business English, presentations, etc.
- We can also provide interview practice and tips for job and school interviews.
- Many of our current and past adult students have taken private lessons for business English, lessons for business school (MBA) preparation.
- In addition, we help prepare professionals who are preparing to be transferred to the U.S., U.K. or other English-speaking countries.
Coaching & Customized programs
We also offer coaching and customized programs for individuals, small groups, and teams, either at our school or online. Examples of prior programs include:
- Short-term English language program for students moving overseas with their families.
- English courses for corporate executives who need to improve their business communication skills.
- Interview practice for students who are preparing to enter overseas boarding schools and graduate business programs.
- Preparation classes for Eiken and TOEFL for elementary, junior high, high school, university students and adults.
Class Schedule
- We provide weekday lessons for elementary school students and above.
- Daily class schedules vary, but we usually have classes from 15:00 to 21:00.
- On Saturdays, our lessons are from 10:00 to 17:00.
- Students who can’t attend in person are welcome to join our lessons online. In addition, we offer online-only lessons for students not located near our Yoga school. So this way we can provide lessons to not only students located in Tokyo but for students located globally.
Payment methods
We accept the following payment methods:

- PayPal
- Bank transfer
- Setagaya Pay
- Other payment options (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc…) may be available upon request.
- Invoices are sent at the end of the prior month and payment is due by the 7th of the next month. For example, July monthly fees are sent at end of June and due by July 7th.
Fees for the first month will be prorated based on the number of classes remaining in the first month. If scheduling permits, private lesson students may request additional lessons during the month.
Other
Typically, there will be no lessons during spring break and summer break in August, and around the New Year holidays. Special lessons and activities during these periods may be held (participation is optional). We will let you know in advance if additional charges are required.
About the absence of the instructor
If the instructor is absent from the lesson, you can change the lesson schedule, take another lesson offered that week, or get a refund for the lesson that was canceled.
English learning materials
BumbleB English uses commercially available learning materials that can be purchased from our online store, at bookstores, and online. The annual cost is around 4,000 – 5,000 yen.
Events
BumbleB English typically hosts several events throughout the year that include fees, but participation is optional. Worksheets are included in the school management fee, but other materials used at these events may incur additional fees.
Please contact us if a student cannot take a class due to the student’s situation. Make-up lessons may be available for students unable to attend a lesson due to illness or other circumstances.
